Together Forever

I just wanted to let my family know how much I love them. My Dad is getting sealed to Elizabeth on Thursday. This is a very exciting time in our family. I am so grateful for all my wonderful siblings and my parents. I am blessed beyond measure. I am grateful that the temple binds people together throughout eternity.

For Halloween Emmy was a chicken. She was pretty dang cute! We had fun carving pumpkins and going to Bryan and Chandi's Halloween party.

Couch Drama

So I have been looking for couches for awhile now.. It has been kinda a crazy story. So I found this sectional on KSL that was in a model home. I called the guy and he said that I could have them. They were up north so I solicited help from my parents in figuring out how to get them, I transfered money into my Dad's account and then an hour before my Dad was supposed to go pick them up he called and said, "Sorry my mother-in-law wants them." I was so upset. I went to all this trouble for nothing!! I was at work so I was venting on my break to the poor people working with me. But, Matt and Nanette have hookups with Ashley Furniture so this might work out better. I am picking between these two couches (the sectional, or the sofa and love seat)so let me know your opinion on which I should get! Sorry the images are so small I can't figure out how to get it larger!

Hiking

Over the 3 day weekend we went to Kanarraville hiking. It was a lot of fun! Emmy loves being outside. She fell asleep and her head was bopping all around. Poor kid! It was a blast!

Here are pics of Scott's deer. I think hunting is just something I don't know if I will ever understand. My Grandpa took me rabbit hunting and after I shot the first rabbit I cried. But lots of people get enjoyment out of it so who am I to talk??

Twilightish

So I have to admit.. I do love Twilight. I almost didn't read it because EVERYONE was making such a big deal about it. It was like when Harry Potter came out I tried to like it. I read it in English and hated it. Then I listened to books on tape because I was trying to force myself to like it, I mean I had to be the ONLY person living who didn't love Harry Potter. Then to seal the deal my AP Spanish Teacher assigned us the book in espanol. So I hate those books. I thought Twilight would be the same. However, I finally gave in to Twilight. I throughly enjoyed the first book and now I NEED the second asap.

Jobs, poor Scott, and the cutest girl!

So we are finally back in the swing of life. We both have jobs :) I am working at MedSurg and ICU at the hospital. Scott got a job with a science and technology company as an intern! We are so excited because it was very competitive and they only announced the opening to Master's program students. My Mom met the head guy over the company and told him about Scott :) Needless to say he got it! There is a good chance they will offer him a permanent job when he graduates in May! My sweet baby is growing up. She is such a smart kid. She has been sleeping lately with her hands behind her head and sometimes her legs crosses. It is so cute. Love her, love her, love her!! Scott had a horrible weekend. He had two absessed teeth and a major infection. He has to get two emergency root canals and his whole face was swollen with infection. He was sooo miserable. We finally got it taken care of but not we have a HUGE bill :( There goes half of the money we earned this summer. Emmy has been sick too. I guess when it rains it pours. We moved into our house. It is so great to get back to our lifestyle.

I have started scrapping online. It is so fun! I am making baby announcements and books. So if anyone needs a baby announcemnt I would love the practice :) These kids are my cute cousins.

Crazy Life

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. I swear every year we come back from summer sales is so hard. we come back to no place to live and no jobs! But we found a house to rent. We have had a couple job offers and now we are just trying to figure out what jobs would work best. I was offered a job as a med tech, and I have an interview at the Hospital today. We will see! So we have been staying in Minersville until our house was finished being built. But we don't feel good about it anymore :( So we will keep looking until we find the diamond in the rock. Emmy is getting so stinking big! She gets more cute every day! I will post pics asap. I don't have the internet in Minersville so it won't be for a week or so. We have been so busy!

Goodbye Pittsburgh

Emmy and I are heading back to Utah. Scott will be joining us next week. We have had a lot of fun in Pittsburgh. We have been able to see so much in such a short amount of time. We are really excited to see everyone at home! Emmy has not seen most of her Grandparents since she was two weeks. She is such a fun baby and I know my family is going to have a blast with her. She is 16 pounds now. (yes she is a BIG eater!). She is a total chatter-box now too. We will look back on our time here with fondness. We have been so blessed this summer. Life just keeps getting better :)

A Big Possibility :)

Click on the rectangle to see the town home we are probably going to purchase! I love it! We are planning on living in it for a year and then using it as a rental. I still can pick my colors and cabinets. We are in the middle of the mortgage application process and everything is going good! So hopefully we will be able to close in September or October.

Visiting the Amish

So we decided to take a trip to visit the Amish. We went to Mesopotania, Ohio. It was about two and a half hours away. We had so much fun!! The Amish people are so nice. Scott spent over an hour in a handmade leather horse goods store. Needless to say we spent way too much money on stuff for Diablo. We got lots of fresh produce too. We bought the best corn, tomatoes, spun honey, spices, string beans, cheese, and handmade corn cobbers. We spent a lot of time talking to the owner of the horse shop. I guess they have an "Amish" language. It is a mix between Dutch and German. Everywhere you look there is hung laundry and gardens. The owner of the shop had a a pony the size of a dog that was just wandering around his property and playing with the dog. It was pretty cute. Needless to say we highly recommend going!

Sara Evans Concert

I love Pittsburgh! They put on a free Sara Evans concert for the community. It was such a blast! Lydia, Chantheoun, April, and I went. She is a great performer. I absolutely love her song "Perfect."

Sisters

I just wanted to take a second and let my little sisters know how much I love them! I miss them so much out here in Pittsburgh. They are my best friends and I can't wait to hang out with them both. I wish they could have spent more time with Emmy before we came out because now she is getting so big! For those of you who don't know Heather is super smart and beautiful. She is very talented at basically anything she tries. She loves to steal my shoes and clothes at any chance :) I can tell her anything. Ashley is the funniest 13 year old you will ever meet. The stuff she comes up with always so random. I believe in my birthday card she said, " I love you so much it ought to be illegal." Ha ha. who thinks of that? She can brighten anyones day with her bright, vibrant smile. I am so grateful I have such wonderful sisters

The Fun Begins

We picked up Scott's parents from the airport last week. They flew out to come visit and come see the church history sites with us. It was so much fun!! We started off with a dinner cruise around Pittsburgh. We all had fun eating, dancing, and looking at beautiful Pittsburgh.

Kirtland

Kirtland was my favorite part of the trip. Calvin knew someone that was serving a couple mission at the visitors center. He took us on our own personal tour. We got to learn all about what happened in Kirtland. I got to sit in the same room that Joseph Smith received over half of the Doctrine and Covenants. The room of school of the Prophets had such an amazing feeling, that is where they set apart the quorum of the twelve apostles. Many people had visions of the Savior there. So many things we have in the gospel were established in Kirtland. Many of the buildings are the same. It was so interesting and the spirit was so strong in there. I never knew much about Kirtland before the trip. I learned so much about the restoration.

Niagra Falls

So neat! We took The Maid of the Mist and go to go right underneath the falls. It was unreal! It completely surrounded us. I swear it is like a mile or more of straight waterfall. We got so wet. It was so beautiful, it was definitely something we will never forget

The Pageant

The Hill Cumorah Pageant was so spectacular! There were so many special effects. It told basically the entire story of the Book of Mormon. There were over 600 people in the production and the stage was constantly being lit up with fire, water, lightning, or Jesus descending from the sky. I strongly recommend it! I am so grateful we got to go! This is Emmy at the production.

The Church is restored

Palmyra is about 5 hours away from Pittsburgh. We were all excited to see the sacred grove, and where Joseph Smith lived. There was such a peaceful spirit that was in the grove. It really strengthened my testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. It is so true!

Play Ball!

April and I went to the Pirates game. Thy played the Yankees so it was a big deal. The stadium was packed. We got so much attention because Ava and Emmy were with us. Lots of people offered to help us carry stuff, throw away trash, or even hold Emmy while I looked around in the gift shop. People in Pittsburgh seem so friendly. I swear having a baby is like wearing a sign that says "talk to me." The weather was perfect! We got some yummy food and enjoyed watching the game. Ava and Emmy looked so cute in their t-shirts.

Swimming

Emmy loves to swim! She kicks around and is so content. She loves swimming with Daddy! She gets worn out pretty good. This is a picture of her asleep in her towel after a long day at the pool

Socks!

My friend April taught me how to crochet beads on baby socks. They are so fun! My first pair only took me 2 hours. ha ha. But now I have a new t.v activity :) And Emmy will have the most styling feet around.

We Had a great 4th of July! We went to out favorite restaraunt out here called the Taj Mahal (I know very American:) After dinner, we went to Point State Park and watched the most amazing firework and laser show I have ever seen. It was a blast! After firework we went and got blizzards at Dairy Queen. It was a great day! Emmy looked so cute in her cute red star flip flops from Aunt Kerry.

Pittsburgh and life these days

We absolutely love Pittsburgh! It is so green! I would love to live here permanently (except for the being away from family thing :) I am really enjoying the rain. It is nice to get away from Southern Utah desert weather. We really like our apartment out here too. Scott is selling six days a week! He is such a hard worker. He is selling really well, we know the Lord is blessing us. I am busy at home with Emmy. She is so much fun, and so much work! Being a Mom is the greatest ever! She is smiling tons and making those baby cooing noises. She is getting kinda chubby too. Her cheeks look like they have golf balls in them.

Fresh Start

Here we go again! I was the world's worst blogger. (The kind that sets one up and then never touches it!) I have decided to give it another shot. I am learning how to do all the fun stuff so my blog is not so boring. I will be posting pictures of Emmy lots too! So here we go again! I promise to be better.
